Wildomar prices
Tile and slate prices in Wildomar, CA
Tile pricing has two parts that get confused: the tile itself, which lasts decades, and the underlayment beneath it, which does not.
Tell us about the roof
About a minute. Nothing is charged and nothing is booked.
Your request is in.
We are matching it now against roofing contractors working in Wildomar and the surrounding area.
- Today, usually within the hour. The first contractor calls or texts the number you gave us. ASAP requests go out first.
- Up to three of them, no more. We cap it at three so you can compare without your phone melting.
- They come and look. Estimates are given after somebody has been on the roof, not over the phone.
- You decide, or you do not. There is nothing to cancel and nothing to pay us.
If you do not hear anything today, check your voicemail and spam folder — contractors often call from a mobile number.
These are estimated ranges, not quotes. Compiled from public installed-cost data for California and adjusted for how Wildomar is built. No contractor is bound by them, and nobody can price a roof they have not stood on.
| Covering | Per square | Typical whole roof | Expected life |
|---|---|---|---|
| Architectural asphalt shingleThe default choice on most American homes, and usually the right one. | $625 – $975 | $12,500 – $26,500 | 25 to 30 years |
| Concrete tileThe tile lasts far longer than the underlayment beneath it, which is the catch. | $1,200 – $2,000 | $24,000 – $54,000 | 40 to 60 years |
| Clay barrel tileOften salvaged and re-laid over new underlayment rather than replaced. | $1,600 – $3,200 | $32,000 – $86,500 | 50 to 80 years |
What moves the price
- Permit and inspection fees, which vary more between towns than people expect
- Warranty tier, which is really a question about who honours it in fifteen years
- Pitch — anything over about 7:12 needs staging and slows a crew down
- Access — a truck that cannot get near the house adds hours to every load
- Ventilation work, if the old roof was cooking itself from underneath
Locally
They also drive ember risk, which is why vent screening and Class A assemblies matter more here than the colour of the covering.
Ask specifically whether the quote is for new tile or for relaying the existing tile. The difference is enormous and easy to miss.

Questions about price
What if the decking is rotten underneath?
Some of it usually is. The important thing is that the price per sheet is agreed in writing before the tear-off, so the conversation on day two is about quantity rather than rate.
Can I just put a new roof over the old one?
Often you legally can, and it is usually a poor idea. Overlaying hides the condition of the decking, adds weight, shortens the life of the new shingles by trapping heat, and doubles the cost of the next tear-off.
Are gutters included in a re-roof?
Usually not, unless the quote says so. If they are near the end of their life, replacing them during the re-roof is meaningfully cheaper than doing it later, because the crew and the staging are already there.
